Bobby Ray Quarles, age 73, of Pine Bluff passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2019. He was born July 6, 1945 in Bearden, Arkansas to the late William A. Quarles and Florence Vincent Quarles. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Charles Quarles, Jeffrey Quarles, Gerald Quarles and Lessie Davis. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying, hunting, fishing, winning at bingo and dominos and most of all spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children, Lonny Quarles, Sr. and his wife Regina, Larry Quarles, Sr., Teresa Bennett and her husband David, one brother, Howard Quarles, grandchildren, Courtney Lott and her husband Matthew, Lacey Hale and her husband John, Lonny Quarles, Jr., David Bennett, Cindy Jo Quarles, Larry Quarles, Jr., great-grandchildren, Kegan Lott, Raylan Lott, Alayna Hale, Xander Hale, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan with Bro. Jimmy Brown officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Moss Cemetery in Bearden.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Sheridan Nursing and Rehab for all of the love and unconditional care they continuously gave to Mr. Quarles.

George Harris
George Rodgers Harris age 86, of Calmer, Arkansas passed away May 16, 2019 in Little Rock Arkansas after a lengthy illness. He was born October 30, 1932 in Randall Arkansas to the parents of Ethel Rodgers Harris and Edward Harris.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict stationed in Jacksonville Arkansas, Greenville Mississippi, and Thule Greenland. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of Mill Creek Masonic Lodge #178, Scottish Rite, Sahara Shrine Temple, and Pine Bluff Chapter USABDA. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Eloise Jones Harris of Little Rock and two daughters, Rhonda Reilly (Jim), Bonnerdale, Ark and Carmen Tucker (Charles), Rye, Ark; a sister Almarieda Hyatt, Pine Bluff Ark; 4 grandchildren, Allison White, Travis Reilly, Lisa Davis, Kacy Johnson and 10 great grandchildren. Rodgers was preceded in death by his parents and brother Kenneth Edward Harris. He was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Calmer.
Rodgers graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1951 and attended the University of Arkansas Monticello until joining the USAF. After military service he worked in Pine Bluff for City Electric and International Paper. In 1964 he moved his wife and family to Natchitoches, LA where they were partners in brick plants and other ventures. He later moved his family to Naples, FL with partners to develop a Real Estate project. Upon completion of the Real Estate project Rodgers and his family moved back to Natchitoches where he retired in 1980. Once retired he and his wife moved back to Arkansas to be with family and friends.

Chester Fisher Jr.
Chester Douglas Fisher Jr., 84, of Clinton passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Conway Regional Hospital in Conway, Arkansas. Born May 17, 1935 in Malvern, Arkansas, to the late Charles Fisher, Sr. and Laura Mae Helm, Chester was a veteran of the Arkansas National Guard. He served during the Little Rock Central High School Crisis. Chester was also a member of the Van Buren County Fair Board, Ozark Health Hospital Volunteer Program and was a lifelong Methodist.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Linda Emerson Fisher, of the home; children Doug Fisher, Danny Fisher, Mark Fisher, Nancy Garrido; stepchildren Charley Higgins and Marshall Jenkins; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and one son, Thomas Fisher.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 2pm at Graceland Cemetery in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

Joan Hickerson
Joan Hickerson was born April 3, 1938 in Rosboro, AR to Richard Lee and Bessie Tackett Reynolds. She lost her battle with Alzheimer’s disease on May 14, 2019 surrounded by the love of her daughter, Leslie and her son-in-law, Derron Woolsey.
She is survived by her daughter, Leslie and son-in-law Derron Woolsey of Krugerville, TX, her sister Sybil Stiles of Malvern, AR; her brother Fred Norwood of Benton, AR; and many other nieces and nephews and friends who loved her.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband Coy E. Hickerson; parents, Richard and Bessie Reynolds; brothers, Louis Reynolds, Bob Reynolds, Joe Edward Reynolds, and George Norwood; and sister, Elaine Merryman.
Joan loved to work out in the yard, planting flowers and trees. She loved children and often had 2 or 3 children that she provided childcare for in her home. She was a devoted wife and mother and dedicated a lot her time to maintaining a good home for her family.

Don Fox
Don Carl Fox, age 75, of Hot Springs, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019.
He was born December 7, 1943, in Pine Bluff, the son of Carl Willard Fox and Josephine McPeak Fox. On March 27, 1962, he was married to the love of his life, Judy Hyde-Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Joanne Hutchins and Imogene Willis.
He was a dedicated firefighter for over thirty-three years and was always the first person to offer his help to anyone in need. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Don gave his life to Jesus Christ as an adult and from that point on spent each and every day as a faithful Christian, a “true servant” of God and was a member of Hot Springs Baptist Church. He loved cars, old or new, it never mattered to him, he just had a sense for knowing everything about cars.
After retirement, he and Judy moved to Hot Springs to live on Lake Hamilton, where they truly loved their “life on the lake”, enjoying entertaining family and friends, especially taking his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren out on his party barge. Don was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Judy Ellen Fox of Hot Springs; his son, Tony (Leslie) Fox of Benton; his daughter, Tami (Todd) Bordelon of West Monroe, Louisiana; four grandchildren, Brandon Bordelon, Blake Bordelon, Landon Fox and Alec Fox; three grandchildren by marriage, Cody (Stefanie) Johnson, Katie Johnson and Chasity Johnson; five great-grandchildren, Maximus Bordelon, Triston Bordelon, Ellie Bordelon, Isabelle Bordelon and Claire Fox; four great-grandchildren by marriage, Addison Johnson, Alice Johnson, Cherish Johnson and Chandler Johnson; two sisters, Carolyn (Fred) Robinson of White Hall and Francis (Harold) Fergusson of Pine Bluff; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Services will be at 10:00AM, Wednesday, in Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs with Bro. Mike Smith officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, 9:00AM until service time. Interment with military honors will be 2:45PM, Wednesday, in Memorial Park Cemetery, Pine Bluff.
Pallbearers will be Trance Plazzi, David Johnson, Richard Terry, Preston Stidman, Lyn McGee and Bill Berry. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Don’s Sunday School Class at Hot Springs Baptist Church.

Lillie Taylor
Lillie Mae Johnson Taylor was born April 4, 1933 to the late Clayton Johnson, Sr. and the late Fannie Sims Johnson in Pastoria, Ar.
Lillie confessed hope and belief in Christ at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church at the age of 15 under the leadership of the late Rev. O.J. Owens. She then joined Morris Chapel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. J. N. Armstrong. She later moved to Pine Bluff, AR and joined Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Dr. Gabe Lee Ford, Jr. where she song in the choir and served as a Sunday school teacher until her health began to fail. Lillie was married to the late Daniel Taylor, and stayed together until his death July 15, 1985. Lillie enjoyed sewing, gardening, going to church and spending quality time with family and friends.
Lillie was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Taylor, Sr., father, Clayton Johnson Sr., mother, Fannie Sims Johnson; brothers Freddie O'Hare, Louis Johnson and Roscoe Johnson; son, Martin Lynn Taylor; daughters, Wyonie-Fairley and Jessie Taylor.
Lillie leaves to cherish her precious memories 5 sons: Bradford Taylor, Daniel (Wanda) Taylor, Tracy Taylor all of Pine Bluff, AR; Marvin (Orlee) Taylor, George (Karen) Taylor both of Little Rock, AR; 2 brothers, Clance Johnson of Pine Bluff, AR and Clayton Johnson, Jr. of Detroit, MI; 1 sister, Estella Dokes of Pine Bluff, AR, 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
