Try clearing out your username
Some Charles Schwab clients are suggesting that website or app users clear out their usernames before trying to log in.
"Okay, ThinkOrSwim is working for now. I had to clear out my user id from the TOS login window, then it would stop giving me the error message," one wrote.
"Clearing the username box has worked for me on both the website and the ThinkorSwim desktop app," another shared.
However, another said that the tip didn't work for them.
"Cleared out username but still could not log-in on either my phone or computer. Why did TDAmeritrade sell out? Someone needs to compensate me for lost income," they complained.

Charles Schwab clients are slamming the company for the "unforgivable" outage.
"It's unforgivable to have login problem when the market opens. Not just ThinkorSwim but also the Schwab website so can't use the web version of ToS either," one user slammed on Downdetector.
"Schwab is the absolute worst," another added.
"They were awful before buying TD Ameritrade and now theyre going to ruin the ThinkOrSwim platform. The Market is crashing and we cant get access to our accounts.
"They are going to lose millions of people tons of money and wont do anything to compensate them. The only way to get them to actually start offering reliable service is to stop giving them business."
